“Dream Sequence” is available as a pay-what-you-want digital release, with all proceeds going to the Women's Aid UK charity.
The debut release by Leisure System co-founder and long-time scene stalwart Ned Beckett, “Dream Sequence” is a refuge of lo-fi electronic beats and soundscapes that reflect the powerful impact of simple, fleeting beauty. A continuous 34-minute mix of 12 original tracks accompanied by a self made video, it’s a brief but entrancing aural and visual journey meant to be consumed all in one sitting.
Although Beckett has been surrounded by talented musicians for more than 25 years, it was only in the last two that he began making the tracks that appear together on “Dream Sequence.” The production process was ad-hoc, embracing rare moments of solitude and quiet to create, and that sense of serenity is palpable, resulting in what feels like an oasis of musical calm for frazzled and fidgety minds. The visual portion compiles personal recordings filmed throughout the album’s creation – removed from their original context, they combine to represent something intriguing, a half-remembered diary of memories that shaped not just the album’s making, but the person making it.

It will take me a year to repeat enough tracks to make any attempt to select a favorite, and that's not a bad thing. Wonderful diversity of music. adventure_tense
